Function names consist of an identifier plus the left parenthesis. As a consequence between a function name and the left parenthesis there must be no space: f(R) is ok, but f (R) will not work. The same is true for program calls.
There is no SKIP-Statement. The semicolon is the symbol for sequential composition and does not terminate a statement. So before OD, ELSE, FI and after the last statement, usually before the RETURN-clause, there must not be a semicolon.
The dot after the END indicates the end of a program.
