Dependable Embedded Components and Systems

The european research project DECOS (Dependable Embedded Components and Systems)  is engaged at the topic of safety-critical distributed real-time systems. Such systems can be found for example in automotive and aerospace industry. The goal is to take the step from federated systems (one function on one electronic control unit, ECU) to integrated systems (multiple functions on one ECU, multiple virtual communication links on one communication bus) at affordable costs. Therefore DECOS develops a set of generic soft- and hardware components and a corresponding model-based development process. This process comprises a seamless toolchain ranging from requirements collection to deployment of software binaries to the distributed ECUs.

The DECOS project is an Integrated Project within the EU Framework Programme 6.
